The Styrian vineyard country can be divided into three areas, each of which produces typical varieties depending on structure, soil and climatic conditions. With 1.800 hectares
of vineyards under cultivation, the South Styrian Wine Regions is
the largest contiguous viticulture area in Styria; it covers the western
part of the district of Leibnitz to the Mur River. |

| This wine region produces some of the best-quality white wines in the province and each town or village has its own typical wine in which it takes justifiable pride. The main varieties are Welschriesling and the Sauvignon blanc that here is called Muskat-Sylvaner and is seldom grown elsewhere in Austria. Then there are Weißburgunder and Morillon (Chardonnay), the early-ripening Müller-Thurgau and Traminer and Gewürztraminer. Muskateller is yet another specialty of the region. |

Our Winery AERA VINUM is located just 40 km south of Graz in the village of Ehrenhausen also known as “The door to the Southern Styrian Wine Trail”. Its charming location, the neat townscape and its historic sights make it one of the most beautiful market municipalities of Styria.
Historic Ehrenhausen has many cultural sights, like the mausoleum of
Ruprecht, baron of Eggenberg, the Baroque parish and pilgrimage church
boasting its remarkable organ, or the Ehrenhausen castle.
